2002 Chevrolet Camaro
This year is the 35th anniversary of the Chevrolet Camaro. To mark this
occasion Chevrolet has added a limited edition 35th anniversay package
available on the SS Coupe and SS Convertible models.
Available Models
The Chevrolet Camaro is available in
six models - the Camaro Coupe and Convertible, Camaro Z28 Coupe and Convertible
and the Camaro SS Coupe and Convertible.
Interior Features
All Camaro models are designed to seat four (2 front, 2 rear).
Air conditioning, and a console consisting of front and rear cup holders,
cd storage and an auxilary power oulet come standard on all models. Standard
on convertible models and available as options on the coupe models are
cruise control, leather wrapped steering wheel, power windows, power locks
and electric rear-window defrost. AM/FM stereo with in-dash CD player
and extended-range speakers are standard on V6-powered coupes while a
Monsoon AM/FM Premium Sound System with in-dash CD player is standard
on V6-equipped convertibles and all Z28 models
Exterior
Features
To complement it's powerful, agressive looks the Chevrolet
Camaro Convertible comes with body-colored side moldings, foglamps and
stainless-steel exhaust. The Camaro Coupe models come standard with stainless-steel
exhaust and a rear hatchback giving 32.8 cubic feet of cargo space with
the rear seats folded down. Body-colored side moldings, foglamps and t-tops
with removable roof panels are available as options.
Performance
The Camaro Coupe and Convertible models come equipt with a powerful 3800
Series II V6 Engine cranking out 200 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 225 lb-ft
of torque at 4000 rpm. The Coupe comes with a 5-speed manual transmission
with a 4-speed automatic transmission available as an option. The Camaro
Convertible comes standard with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The Camaro Z28 Coupe and Convertible models come with a beefier 5.7-liter
V8 Engine that produces 310 hp at 5200 rpm and 340 lb-ft of torque at
4000 rpm. The SS Coupe and SS Convertible come with a 5.7-liter V8 engine
that puts out 325 hp at 5200 rpm making them the fastest of the Camaro
lineup. All come equipt with a 4-speed automatic transmission, a 6-speed
manual transmission is also available.
Safety
and Security
Standard safety features include driver and front-passenger side air bags,
front and rear crush zones, anti-lock brakes, and a high-strength steel
safety cage surrounds the entire passenger compartment - its components
include reinforcements in the floor, body sills, roof and pillars - plus
steel side door beams.
Standard security features include a PASS-Key II theft-deterrent system,
which allows only your specially coded key starts your Camaro. PASS-Key
II disables both the fuel and ignition systems if an attempt is made to
start the car and the proper key is not used. Remote Keyless entry is
standard on the convertible models and available as an option on the coupes.
