2003 Acura NSX

One of the most exciting cars on the market in the near-luxury sports car class is the 2003 Acura NSX convertible, a race-bred rocket with amazing styling, great performance components and impressive power levels.

A mid-engine 2-door 2-seater with one trim level but two engine choices, the SX models continue to set a standard for performance handling and all-aluminum poetry. The 2003 Acura NSX comes in two version distinguished by two distinct powrtrains. The first is a 3.0-liter V6 with a 4-speed automatic transmission and the second a 3.2-liter V6 with a 6-speed manual.

Interior Features
The inside of the 2003 Acura NSX is the same whichever engine choice is made. As an up-level Acura, Honda's premium division, the interior content is generous and sophisticated. Automatic climate control, cruise control, 4-way power bucket seats, power windows, mirrors, doors and steering, and leather upholstery all combine to pamper the occupants.

Exterior Features
The stylish and sport-oriented exterior serves to set the Acura NSX apart from the crowd. Removable roof panels, 255/40ZR17 low profile racing tires, alloy wheels and high intensity discharge headlights all offer style and function to the classic low-slung exterior.

Performance
As a sports car, the 2003 Acura NSX is all about what is behind the scenes and there is more than smoke and mirrors here. On the smaller of the two engines, the 3.0-liter, 252 hp at 6600 rpm and 210 lb-ft of torque at 5300 rpm make for an exciting ride. This is coupled with a 4-speed AT and together they get 17/24 mpg (city/hwy).

Alternatively, the 3.2-liter V6 can be chosen instead. This dynamo gets significantly more speed and acceleration: 290 hp at 7100 rpm and 224 lb-ft of torque at 5500 to be precise. Add to this a race bred 6-speed manual transmission, sport-tuned suspension, traction control and a mid-ship engine mounting and you have a smooth mover with little to no lean in corners and razor sharp handling and agility in general.

Safety and Security
Race-evolved antilock 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes and traction control combine with dual front airbags to make up both active and passive safety and control technology but this car's low center of gravity, sharp handling and rigid feel mean the driver has the best safety equipment: brain and reflexes.
