2003 Chevy S-10 (2WD)
The 2003 Chevy S-10 is a well-equipped compact pickup truck that is offered
in a number of different configurations to meet the diverse needs of customers.
Along with 2WD models, there are 4WD models that provide the added ability
of a four-wheel drive configuration. Either way, both types of 2003 Chevy
S-10s stick close to the trademark toughness and long-lasting performance
capability that flows down the entire line of Chevy trucks. Lower in price
than 4WD models, the 2WD lineup offers steady pickups at a fair price.
Available Models
Regular cabs have two-doors, while extended cabs add a third. Regular
cabs offer a short 6-ft. Fleetside bed and a long 7.3-ft Fleetside bed;
all others receive the short bed only. There is a base model trim and
an uplevel LS trim level that makes a flare-fender Sportside bed available.
Interior Features
Regular cab configurations of the 2003 Chevy S-10 seat between two and
three passengers (two with front bucket seats). With extended cabs, there
is a left rear door and one rear jump seat, adding on room for an extra
passenger. For 2003, new cloth upholstery is spread over the interior
of the S-10, adding to the comfort of the ride. LS models also receive
new door trim panels.
The interior features of the 2003 Chevy S-10 are practical and convenient.
A delayed interior lighting feature keeps the dome lamp lit for 15 seconds
or until the ignition is turned on after closing the front doors. The
stereo, power windows and other power options remain active for as long
as 20 minutes after the ignition is turned off or a door is open, thanks
to the retained accessory power feature.
Exterior Features
For people who want to add a distinct look to their 2WD S-10 pickup, an
Xtreme model is available. Featuring 270-degree ground effects, a front
air dam with foglamps and optional exterior stripes, it also offers a
Flame/Heat decal.
Performance
The standard engine on the S-10 is a 2.2-liter L4 with 120 horsepower
at 5000 rpm and 140 lb-ft of torque at 3600 rpm. 4 speed automatic transmission
is standard on the regular cab long bed and optional on regular cab and
extended cab short bed models. Those models receive standard 5-speed manual
transmission. The S-10 offers a good fuel rating, at 19/25 mpg (city/hwy)
for automatic transmission and 22/28 mpg (city/hwy) for manual.
The regular cab provides Smooth Ride Suspension. Both the extended cab

as owners are offered a second engine to upgrade to. It is a 4.6-liter
V6 that dishes out 180 horsepower at 4400 rpm and 245 lb-ft of torque
at 2800 rpm.

if needed. All models come with driver and passenger air bags, antilock
