2003 Dodge Durango

The 2003 Dodge Durango: a uniquely styled SUV that doesn't need to follow the pack and act as the others do. The Durango is sized between midsize and full-size SUVs, offering the best of both worlds. It has the roominess and power of a full-size with the maneuverability of smaller sport utility vehicles.

The 2003 model is the most advanced Dodge Durango yet. New brakes, larger standard tires and a revised interior setting highlight some of the many changes on this highly capable SUV.

Available Models
The 2003 Dodge Durango is offered in four trim levels: Sport, SLT, SLT Plus and R/T.

Interior Features
The 2003 Durango Durango is a very convenient vehicle, offering a number of different seating configurations to meet the needs of hectic families. In its standard two-row seating configuration, Durango provides comfortable seating for five people and 88 cubic feet of cargo volume. A fold-flat, hide-away third-row seat (standard on SLT, SLT Plus and R/T models) allows Durango to carry up to eight passengers. The third row can be conveniently accessed from either side of the vehicle, while the roof is raised behind the driver seat to provide theater-style seating for rear passengers.

Comfort is key with the 2003 Dodge Durango. Optional leather seats on SLT models (standard on SLT Plus and R/T) provide a luxurious look and feel. Durango's dual-zone climate control system has independent temperature controls for each front passenger, along with optional heated and six-way power seats for both. A four-speaker stereo system is standard on all Durango models, while an eight-speaker Infinity sound system is available as an option.

Exterior Features
The Durango's innovative styling is sure to catch the eye of onlookers. It is as sleek and refined as it is imposing and muscular. For 2003, two new exterior colors are available: Timberland Green and Light Almond.

Performance
Not surprisingly, 2WD and 4WD configurations are available with the 2003 Durango, giving it the ability to step up the performance when needed. Base, Sport and SLT models are equipped with a 4.7-liter V8 engine that delivers 235 horsepower at 4800 rpm and 295 lb-ft. of torque at 3200 rpm. Standard with R/T models and optional with the rest of the pack is a 5.9-liter V8 capable of generating 245 horsepower at 4000 rpm and 335 lb-ft. of torque at 3200 rpm.

5-speed automatic transmission accompanies the less-powerful V8 engine, while 4-speed automatic is mated to the beefier 5.9-liter V8.

Safety and Security
For safety, the Durango comes with dual front airbags and 4-wheel disc brakes with rear antilock brakes. Front and second-row curtain side airbags are optional, as is a dual front and rear antilock brake setup.
