2005 Chevy TrailBlazer EXTBigger than the regular-length TrailBlazer but just as capable - if not more so - the TrailBlazer EXT benefits from all the improvements of its smaller sibling, all the while offering the added flexibility of an extended wheelbase. There are new options this year that up the refinement level, and more standard safety features as well. Yet underneath it all is the strong foundation that makes the TrailBlazer so versatile. Both TrailBlazers use hydroformed steel frame side rails, which form a strong foundation for the trucks' overall strength and solid feel, even on unpaved surfaces. Available Models Interior Features XM Satellite Radio continues as an option for 2005. It is joined by some new add-ons, including an upgraded radio/navigation system with control touch screen in the audio faceplate and a DVD player. Additional options on the 2005 Chevy TrailBlazer EXT include adjustable brake and accelerator pedals, sun visors with lighted vanity mirrors, an inside rearview mirror with temperature gauge and compass, rain-sensing wipers and leather seating surfaces with eight-way-power driver and passenger seats. Exterior Features Performance The optional engine is a 5.3-liter V8 that produces 290 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 330 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. Both engines are mated to a rugged Hydra-Matic 4L60-E electronically controlled 4-speed automatic transmission. The V8 uses GM's innovative Displacement on Demand (DOD) technology. It enables fuel economy gains of up to 8 percent by reducing the number of cylinders engaged in the combustion process. Safety and Security
