2005 Lincoln AviatorThe 2005 Lincoln Aviator is different from last year's offering in fundamental ways. Retaining the enhancements introduced in 2004 and adding new ones for 2005 has led to a great combination of value, standard luxuries and first-rate performance technology. 2003 was the Aviator's debut year, and it rolled into the mid-size luxury sport utility vehicle segment with a bit of bravado arising from solid engineering, undeniable power and premium standard features. Then, last year, it was offered in two trim levels, Luxury and Ultimate, with AdvanceTrac Roll Stability Control, for instance restricted from the Luxury model. This year the gloves are off, the Ultimate trim level is eliminated and every Aviator is available with all mod-cons, new styling and colours inside and out and new options and potions packages. Available Models Interior Features Along with 77 cubic feet of cargo capacity, the Aviator's luxury distinction means features galore. Dual electronic automatic temperature control, an AM/FM Premium CD/cassette stereo, leather seating surfaces on the first and second row, and a color-keyed steering wheel with leather and wood trim are attractive in the new interior colour, camel with light parchment headliner. Major options packages include the Elite, Luxury Enhancement Moon roof, Jet Black and Luxury Enhancement RSES Packages. These packages include notable and state-of-the-art technologies like a GPS Navigation system, and rear-seat DVD entertainment system, heated and cooled seats, sunroof, and much more. Exterior Features The Lincoln Aviator is designed as a complimentary vehicle to the Navigator (and vice versa). It has a chromed signature Lincoln grille with dark argent vanes and large clear-lens, quad-beam halogen headlamps. Additional functional equipment includes a two-piece liftgate with flip-up rear glass that provides lift-over access for small items. Performance The 2005 Aviator comes with either two-wheel drive or all-wheel drive for added stability. 5-speed automatic transmission is mated to its strong engine, while 4-wheel independent suspension helps maintain a steady ride.
