World Debut for New Jaguar XJ Saloon I am proud to be introducing a new generation of the quintessential Jaguar saloon, said Mike Beasley, Jaguars Managing Director. The original XJ6 was introduced 34 years ago to the day, on 26 September 1968. The new XJ has all the style and spirit of that car, but benefits from the most advanced technologies ever used by Jaguar. The new Jaguar XJ goes on sale from next spring. The range of engines is spearheaded by a 4.2-litre V8 in naturally aspirated and supercharged forms, with a new 3.5-litre V8 and a 3.0-litre V6 also available. The latter marks the return of the XJ6 badge. More customer information on the new car is available via a dedicated website, www.thenewXJ.com, where customers can also register to be kept updated with further details as they are released. Also making their motor show debuts in Paris are the new-generation XK8 and XKR sports cars. With larger capacity, more powerful engines and a new six-speed automatic transmission heading the package of changes, the revised XK is now an even more attractive proposition. In the past 18 months Jaguar has introduced the new X-TYPE, renewed
the S-TYPE range and now, with the new-generation XK and all-new XJ, we
have our strongest model line up ever, said Bob Dover, Chief Operating
Officer, Jaguar and Land Rover. Put this together with five successive
years of record sales including this one and Jaguar is in
great shape for the future.
