Ford to Mark 100th Anniversary with June 12-16
Celebration DEARBORN, Mich.,Dec. 18, 2002 -- Ford Motor Company announced plans today to mark its 100th anniversary with a special five-day June 12-16, 2003 celebration on the grounds of the Henry Ford II World Center in Dearborn, Mich. The event is called THE ROAD IS OURS 100th Anniversary Celebration and will commemorate the company's rich history, and will look ahead to its bright future. "The company's 100th anniversary is a significant milestone and THE ROAD IS OURS 100th Anniversary Celebration events gives everyone, but especially the extended family of Ford our employees, retirees, enthusiasts, dealers, suppliers and customers the opportunity to join the celebration," said Jim O'Connor, group vice president, North America Marketing, Sales & Service. "The success of the company throughout our first 100 years, as well as our future success, is attributable to the people of Ford, and we want everyone to feel part of this historic anniversary." The event will feature one of the world's largest displays of Ford products in one location, including classic and historic cars and trucks from across all Ford Motor Company brands (Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mazda and Volvo) as well as current model offerings and a unique display of concept vehicles. In addition, visitors can see a wide range of headline entertainment, including country music super star Toby Keith, Motown, rock-and-roll and other forms of popular music in an on-site outdoor theater. "Ford's 100th anniversary is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for people to celebrate the company's great heritage, and we welcome everyone to participate," said John Nens, manager, Centennial Marketing, Ford Motor Company. "We encourage people to register and purchase their tickets now to ensure we have space on the company's grounds to display their Ford products, and to be sure they can participate in all the planned activities."
