2003 GMC Yukon XL 2500

The 2003 GMC Yukon XL 2500 is big, strong and willing to handle whatever challenge is thrown its way. It has all the power and handling to perform heavy-duty work on or off the beaten path. On the softer side of things, the 2003 GMC Yukon XL 2500 is a reliable family vehicle with plenty of comfort features to make long drives pleasant rather than painful. 2003 sees a new-and-improved Yukon line, as all models are given a complete once-over, resulting in enhanced performance, safety and style.

Available Models
The ¾-ton 2003 GMC Yukon XL 2500 comes in 2WD and 4WD configurations. A wealth of available optional equipment allows owners to tailor their Yukons for whatever needs they have.

Interior Features
The 2003 GMC Yukon XL 2500 can seat between seven and nine people very easily. All-new seats feature a simpler, cleaner appearance and thicker headrests improve comfort. A new driver information center provides nearly twice as much crucial operating data and places it directly in front of the driver for safe, easy viewing. Other highlights among the standard features include AM/FM CD/cassette player, tri-zone automatic climate control and cruise control.

A DVD entertainment system, featuring a 7-inch flip-down screen, two wireless (infrared) headphones, a wireless remote control and three sets of auxiliary video and audio inputs heads the options list.

Exterior Features
Like the Yukon XL 1500, the XL 2500 has a wheelbase of 130 inches. As with all 2003 Yukons, the XL 2500 also offers a new four-position headlamp switch that gives drivers the ability to turn off the daytime running lamps and automatic headlamps for one ignition cycle, when necessary, simply by reverse-rotating the headlamp switch.

Performance
The standard engine on the 2003 Yukon XL 2500 is supplemented with an available upgrade. The base model comes with a 6.0-liter Vortec V8 with 320 horsepower. The upgrade, however, offers plenty of bite. An 8.1-liter Vortec V8 boasting 340 horsepower, it will get up to speed in any condition.
For 2003, the ¾-ton Yukon XL offers GM's revolutionary Quadrasteer four-wheel-steering system. Quadrasteer reduces curb-to-curb turning diameter by 20 percent to 35 feet and increases track width by 5 inches for greater stability.

Safety and Security
The available Quadrasteer system is as functional a safety feature as any. Others features include four-wheel disc, four-wheel antilock brakes with dual piston calipers and Dynamic Rear Proportioning and a sophisticated dual-stage, dual-level airbag system, which uses a sensing system to automatically deactivate the passenger-side airbag under certain conditions to protect children.
