Visit Jaguar for more information on the Jaguar XJ.

The 2003 Jaguar XJ Series is a range of sedans that satisfy every bit of the driving experience. For performance-enthusiasts, the words '358-horsepower engine strength' should do the trick, while the knowledge that the XJ series is the flagship line from Jaguar should cover all the other essentials, including comfort, style and safety.

The 2003 Jaguar XJ Series has been satisfying discriminating customers for three decades. In other words, it is doing something right. Elegant, poised and confident, it has the classic look of a Jaguar. For 2003, various powertrain and comfort improvements keep the momentum going.

Available Models
The 2003 Jaguar XJ Series is broken into the following models: XJ8, Vanden Plas, Super V8, Sport and XJR.

Interior Features
The four-door 2003 Jaguar XJ Series comes in two body lengths to fit the diverse needs of its owners. For more rear legroom, the Vanden Plas and Super V8 models add five inches to the wheelbase of the XJ8, XJ Sport and XJR models.

For 2003, new packages enhance the already high level of comfort found inside the XJ Series. The base XJ8 offers a new Sovereign package with heated front/rear seats, a premium 320-watt audio system and extra leather-and-wood interior trim.

Exterior Features
Each of the Jaguar XJ Series models is sleek and elegant. The XJR is probably the looker of the group, featuring a body-colored exterior trim and special wheels.

Performance
Power is not an issue with the 2003 Jaguar XJ Series. XJ8, XJ Sport and Vanden Plas models are equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 engine that pumps out 280 horsepower at 6100 rpm and 277 lb-ft. of torque at 4250 rpm. For more strength, one need only step up to the XJR and Super V8 models. They feature a turbocharged engine of the same dimensions. However, they are quite a bit faster. With 358 horsepower at 6150 rpm and 372 lb-ft. of torque at 3600 rpm, they are among the fastest cars on the road.

All 2003 Jaguar XJ Series trims have a 5-speed automatic transmission and antiskid/traction control. The Super V8 features a softer version of the XJR's sport-oriented computer-controlled suspension, as well as a navigation system that costs extra in other XJs.

Safety and Security
The Jaguar XJ Series exhibits Jaguar's tradition of safety and security. All models receive dual front airbags, front side airbags, antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and a rear-obstacle-detection system.
