Visit Volkswagen for more information on the Volkswagen Golf.

Golf! This is Volkswagen's spunky hatchback designed for taking you and whatever you fancy, anywhere you want, and then some. A direct descendant of the Jetta, the 2003 Volkswagen Golf can be supercharged in several body/engine variations.

Available Models
Two- or four-door GL, or two-door GLS trims avail with a range of engines.

Interior Features
Cool standard features of the 2003 Volkswagen Golf include air conditioning, cruise control, tachometer, mirror control pad with joystick, handsome chrome ornamentation, eight-speaker cassette/in-dash CD stereo system, 60/40 split folding rear seat, and a height-adjustable telescoping steering column. Optional features consist of a 6-disc trunk-mounted CD changer, Monsoon sound system, and heatable front seats.

Exterior Features
The fun doesn't stop on the outside of the 2003 Volkswagen Golf. Standard inclusions consist of a roof-mounted amplified whip antenna, halogen headlamps with clear chip-resistant polycarbonate lenses, driver and passenger-side heatable power mirrors, and a programmable intermittent wipe feature.

Performance
For a start, the 2003 Volkswagen Golf comes with power-assisted ABS front vented disc and rear solid disc brakes. Under the hood, you can find two options for your perusal: a 1.9-litre 90 horsepower, 149 lb-ft torque, 4 cylinder in-line, turbo-charged direct injection diesel engine, OR a 2.0-litre 115 horsepower, 122 lb-ft torque, 4 cylinder in-line gas engine. Diesel fuel mileage rings in at an impressive 42/49 (city/hwy) mpg on the 5-speed manual transmission. Unleaded fuel mileage registers at 24/31 (city/hwy) mpg on the 5-speed manual.

Transmission choices consist of a 4-speed automatic with adaptive "fuzzy logic" shift points & shift lock, or 5-speed manual.

Safety and Security
Safety is never left to guess in any Volkswagen vehicle. Volkswagen prides itself in incorporating a plethora of standard safety and security features. For starters, there is an anti-theft vehicle alarm system for doors, hood, trunk lid, radio and starter, with warning LED in driver's door top sill and audible/visual de/activation verification. Volkswagen's Immobilizer theft deterrent system prevents the Golf from being started up if an unauthorized key is used. Also standard are anti-intrusion side-door beams, energy absorbing side impact door padding, and a restraint system including multiple airbags that will do everything but make your head spin.
