2004 Chevy Silverado 2500
One step up in weight class from the dependable 1500 series, the Silverado
2500 is a ¾-ton bruiser that also gives you a softer side for smooth
road driving. But when the time calls, this full-size pickup is always
ready to handle the dirty work.
The Chevy Silverado 2500 is now offered in a crew cab configuration.
Other changes for 2004 see more standard features added to the base Silverado,
including cruise control, power door locks, black bodyside moldings, chrome
bumpers and uplevel wheels. An AM/FM radio with CD player is also standard,
and all 2004 Silverado models can be fitted as work trucks, except the
2500 crew cab.
Available Models
The 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 is offered as a regular cab, an extended
cab and a crew cab. There are three trims available: base, LS and LT.
1500 models and HD models are all covered in individual reviews.
Interior Features
Regular cabs have two doors and seat two or three. Extended cabs have
rear-hinged back doors; crew cabs have four full doors. Both have a rear
bench seat that accommodates three more people.
The 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 keeps everyone comfortable on the inside
with a standard dual-zone heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC)
system. It is available with both manual and automatic climate control,
depending on customer preference.
Top-line LT models really bathe passengers in comfort. They have such
features as air conditioning, the OnStar System, leather upholstery, heated
front bucket seats, a Bose AM/FM radio with in-dash 6-disc CD changer,
steering-wheel radio controls and more.

and crew cabs have a 6.5-ft Fleetside short box. Bed rails and a bed extender

model. It can generate up to 325 horsepower at 4400 rpm and 365 lb-ft
of torque at 4000 rpm.
Two transmission choices are available: 5-speed heavy-duty manual or
4-speed automatic. In a move that surprises no one, 2500 models can be
had with either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The Quadr
asteeer four-wheel turning system is now offered with 2500 crew cabs,
marking the first time the system is available with ¾-ton trucks.
The turning diameter of 2500 models with Quadrasteer is reduced 21 percent,
from 49.6 feet to 37.4 feet.
