2005 Buick Rendezvous
Buick has answered the call of the marketplace and their response is
the 2005 Buick Rendezvous. A sports touring vehicle, the Buick Rendezvous
is vehicle for adventure-seeking urbanites who require a multi-purpose
car that meets the diverse requirements of a complex life. That is, they
need a comfortable , fuel-efficient commuter, a spacious and convenient
family car and a rugged but agile back-woods trailblazer. This versatile
vehicle can meet many different needs.
Available Models
The 2005 Buick Rendezvous is offered in three models: CX, CXL and the
Ultra and these models all come in 2- or All-Wheel Drive versions.
Interior Features
The four-door Buick Rendezvous wagon has plenty of interior space. Four
inches longer than the Aztec allows room for a third row seat meaning
it can accommodate up to seven adult passengers very comfortably, a capability
normally reserved for full-sized SUVs or mini-vans. For transporting goods,
the Rendezvous has a massive 108.9 cubic feet of cargo volume.
The 2005 Buick Rendezvous CX, the basic model, has some great standards;
such as air conditioning, an AM/FM/CD player, leather-wrapped steering
wheel, cruise control and power everything. Stepping up to one of the
CXL option packages adds many possible additions to comfort and convenience
like woodgrain interior trim, dual-zone automatic climate controls, leather
upholstery on 6-way power front seats, heated power mirrors, or programmable
door locks, just to name a few.
Naturally for such a multi-purpose vehicle, there are a range of free
standing optional extras to allow you to tailor your Rendezvous to meet
your needs. For example, GPS navigation or a DVD system with 7-inch fold-down
screen can be added fop those with an eye for luxuries and state-of-the-art
gadgetry.
Exterior Features
The 2005 Buick Rendezvous shares the same basic structure as the Pontiac
Aztek, but distinctive Buick exterior styling carries traditional iconic
and historic Buick features; in the grillwork, lights and badging.
Performance
Performance continues to be a key design feature of the Buick Rendezvous.
Whether you mate it to 2- or AWD, the 3.4-liter V6 engine has lots of
punch with 185 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 210 lb-ft of torque at 4000
rpm. 4-speed automatic transmission does the shifting. The Ultra package
includes a major engine upgrade. If chosen, owners will have a 3.6-liter
VVT (variable valve timing) V6 with 245 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 235
lb-ft of torque at 3200 rpm. AWD models also come with standard 4-wheel
antilock brakes with traction control and big but low profile 225/60R17
tires on alloy wheelsincluded with the Ultra.
Safety and Security
Safety appointments include standard front airbags with advanced inflation
characteristics for front-seat passengers, a safety-cage construction
and available four-wheel antilock disc brakes and front side airbags for
all models.
