GM Goodwrench Maximizes Customer Convenience With Launch Of New Credit Card Private Label Expert Household To Manage Flexible Financing Program Detroit., Sept. 12, 2002 - Caring for your vehicle is getting easier through a new GM Goodwrench credit card program, which debuted in the northwest and is rolling out across the country. The Goodwrench Card is a nationwide program that allows customers to purchase parts, service and accessories without feeling an immediate financial pinch. "Our goal is to fully engage new and used vehicle customers right at the point of sale, and create long-term relationships with their dealers," said Bill Maclear, merchandising manager, GM Parts. "This revolutionary card offers 90 days same as cash, or six months same as cash, depending on the dealer's credit promotion." The GM Goodwrench Card offers an exclusive line of credit - up to $5,000- for GM service, parts and accessories and can be used at a growing number of GM Goodwrench Service Plus dealers nationwide. In 2003, the card will be made available to GM dealers. Customers now will be able to put off the payment with this unique credit line that does not tap into other emergency credit lines. By simply completing an application form at their GM dealer, and once approved, customers have immediate access to a line of credit with no annual fee and pre-paid service opportunities and service on a vehicle, regardless of manufacturer or model year. Jeff Siegfried, Fixed Operations Manager at Friendly Chevrolet in Fridley, Minn., said, "The service opportunities are endless. The GM Goodwrench credit card can provide coverage on a paint job, oil change, engine flush, a new bumper - virtually anything we offer." GM worked with Household International to develop a customized credit card program that will help dealers and their customers take advantage of flexible financing options for parts, services and accessories. Sandy Derickson, group executive for Household's retail services business said, "We customized this new program for GM Goodwrench to enhance the customers' experience and ensure that they come back to their GM dealer for additional parts, service and support." GM Service and Parts Operations, headquartered in Grand Blanc, Mich., markets automotive replacement parts and accessories worldwide under the GM and ACDelco brand names.
