All-New 2004 Chevrolet Colorado Pricing Announced

BURLINGTON, Vt., August 18, 2003 - The all-new 2004 Colorado pickup, which arrives in Chevrolet dealerships in November, will have a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $16,200 for the base two-wheel-drive Regular Cab (includes a dealer freight charge of $635), announced Chevrolet General Manager Brent Dewar at a national media program here today.

Colorado Extended Cab two-wheel-drive models carry an MSRP of $18,545. The LS two-wheel-drive Crew Cab has a $20,670 MSRP and the LS four-wheel-drive Crew Cab has an MSRP of $23,230. All prices include a $635 destination charge.

Popular options, such as power locks, power windows, electronically controlled outside mirrors and remote keyless entry are available in the Power Convenience Group for $500. The available Comfort Convenience Group available on Regular and Extended Cabs offers a tilt steering wheel and cruise control for $395. Additional options include side-curtain air bags (starting at $195), XM Satellite Radio ($325), OnStar ($695), trailer hitch and wiring ($255) and traction control for two-wheel-drive models with the G80 locking differential ($295).

"Colorado delivers high performance at an exceptional value for consumers," said Dewar. "The value of Colorado's standard and optional equipment complements its broad lineup and allows customers to tailor a vehicle to their active lifestyle."

Colorado's standard equipment (excluding fleet models) includes air conditioning; a locking, removable, dual-position tailgate; four-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS); and driver and front passenger frontal air bags with dual-stage inflators.

The standard engine is the Vortec 2800 inline four-cylinder, which produces 175 horsepower and 185 lb.-ft. of torque - more power and torque than any other four-cylinder in its class. The 220-horsepower Vortec 3500 inline five-cylinder, standard on the four-wheel-drive Crew Cab, is available for all models and features class leading V-6 horsepower. A five-speed Aisin manual gearbox is standard while the electronically controlled four-speed automatic is optional.

Built on GM's all-new midsize truck architecture, Colorado features a ladder frame that is more than 250 percent stronger than Chevrolet's current compact pickup. Utilizing the strengths built into Chevrolet's popular TrailBlazer and Silverado, the Colorado delivers class-leading refinement with features including:

• Hydraulically assisted rack-and-pinion steering
  
• Large front disc brakes with twin-piston calipers
  
• Coil-over front suspension on two-wheel-drive models
  
• Torsion bar front suspension on four-wheel-drive models
  
• Tuned body mounts that reduce interior noise and vibration

The 2004 Chevrolet Colorado begins production at GM's Shreveport, LA assembly plant in fall of 2003.
