2003 Ford Mustang
The Ford Mustang has been satisfying customers with a taste for adventure
for years. Its name is synonymous with a distinct style and high performance.
The 2003 Ford Mustang keeps pushing the line down this same exemplary
path, leading the way as it has since 1964. Though it offers a number
of different models and engine sizes, the 2003 Ford Mustang still has
the same heart-pumping power that it always has.
Available Models
The 2003 Ford Mustang is available in Base, GT, Mach 1 or Cobra Performance
packages. The Base comes with Standard, Deluxe or Premium trim levels
while the GT comes with Deluxe or Premium. Two-door coupe and convertible
configurations are available with every model except the Base Standard
and new Mach 1, which are only offered as two-door coupes.
Interior Features
Interior refinement is standard with every Mustang model. For 2003, the
Mustang has reduced wind noise due to expandable foam seals around the
body, particularly at the outside door handles and belt molding on the
doors. The Base model offers air conditioning, power steering, mirrors,
and locks, AM/FM/CD player and a tachometer, plus others. The Deluxe models
adds cruise control and power seats and power roof control, while the
Premium offers leather upholstery and an in-dash 6-CD changer.
Customers looking to upgrade the interior of their Mustang are given
a number of options that can be added as packages or individually. An
Interior Upgrade Package includes stainless steel pedals, leather-wrapped
shift knob, aluminum-finish door lock posts, shift boot ring and a 4-way
head restraint system.
Exterior Features
Dark Shadow Gray and Azure are new paint colors for 2003. The 2003 Mustang
Pony is a special-edition appearance package offered on the V-6 model
that features 16-inch, polished-aluminum wheels, unique striping with
"Mustang Stampede" graphics and a special rear bumper with blackened
"Mustang" lettering.
Performance
If there's one thing the Mustang can handle, it's performance. Base models
come with a 3.8-liter V6 with 190 horsepower at 5250 rpm and 220 lb-ft
of torque at 2750 rpm. The GT comes has a 4.6-liter V8 that increases
the power output to 260 horsepower and adds 302 lb-ft of torque at 4000
rpm. Both engines come with 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic.
Superior handling and ride control are achieved with each model through
new suspension configurations and an advanced rear-wheel drive system.
The new Mach 1 model boasts a V8 with 300 horsepower at 6000 rpm and
300 lb-ft at 4250 rpm. At the top of the line is the Cobra, with 390 horsepower
in its supercharged V8. Available with 6-speed manual transmission only,
the power is right at your fingertips.
Safety and Security

a new A-pillar, headliners, sun visors and a revised D-ring seat belt
attachment. Also included in the safety package on all models are dual
front airbags. Base Standard and Base Deluxe models have 4-wheel disc
