2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
Billed by Chevrolet as the "Ultimate Utility Vehicle" the new
2002 Chevrolet Avalanche is both a full size SUV and pickup truck. The
2002 Chevrolet Avalanche transforms from a 4 door 5/6 passenger SUV with
a small pickup bed to a 2/3 passenger truck with a full-sized 8'1"
bed. This transformation is possible by the "midgate" which
acts as a tailgate separating the rear seats from the cargo bed - to go
from SUV to pickup - simply fold down the rear seats and lower the midgate
onto the folded down seats, the rear window can also be removed and stowed
onboard.
