are just some of the words that may pop to mind when experiencing the
driver's seat of the Grand Vitara.
Available Models
The 2003 Suzuki Grand Vitara offers two 4-door power-packed trims: JLS

and load it up.

Performance
This is where the 2003 Suzuki Grand Vitara can really blow your hair back.
A generous 2.5-litre V6, 24 valve, quad-cam engine churning out 165 horsepower
@ 6500 rpm and 162 lb-ft of torque @ 4000 rpm ensures you can accelerate
with conviction. Estimated fuel consumption is 19/21 (city/hwy) mpg on
the 5-speed manual transmission, and 18/20 (city/hwy) mpg on the 4-speed
automatic transmission.
Safety and Security
If you haven't already raced out to try a Grand Vitara for yourself, we
can now tell you about the standard safety and security features. These
include second-generation dual front airbags, height-adjustable shoulder
belts, rear door child-safety locks, child seat LATCH system, energy-absorbing
steering column, daytime running lights, and remote keyless entry. Structural

2003 Suzuki Grand Vitara Highlights
The
Grand Vitara's interior has been updated with a completely new dashboard
and console design and other refinements including new colors and
fabrics and a powerful new in-dash CD player with seven speakers
including a subwoofer, automatic climate control, center armrest
with storage, overhead storage console, brushed aluminum dash trim
and ambient temperature display.
Standard
equipment is extensive and includes important items like a V6 engine,
air conditioning, power mirrors, windows and locks, in-dash CD player
with a seven speakers, remote keyless entry, air conditioning with
a micron air-filtration system, cruise control, tilt steering wheel,
rear wiper/washer, remote audio controls on the steering wheel,
privacy glass and a lot more. There are also plenty of safety and
convenience features such as cargo cover, rear wiper/washer, split-folding
rear seat, cargo-area light, rear window defroster, and Lower Anchors
and Tethers for Children (LATCH) child seat system.
In
four-wheel-drive mode, the Grand Vitara system offers both high-range
and low-range gearing -- a major advantage over the single-range
all-wheel-drive systems offered on many car-based SUVs. When the
terrain demands that you slow to walking speed -- or even down to
a crawl -- to work your way over a particularly tough section, the
Grand Vitara is happy to oblige with a full set of low-range ratios
that keep the powerful V6 engine spinning right in the heart of
its powerband. So the wheels keep turning, and you have the best
chance of getting through. Single-range all-wheel-drive vehicles
don't offer this low gearing, so the engine bogs down at low forward
speeds and there may not be the torque available to keep the wheels
turning. In this case, traction isn't the problem, but available
torque at the wheels most assuredly is. Advantage: Grand Vitara
four-wheel drive.
