2003 Suzuki Vitara 4-Door
The 2003 Suzuki 4-door Vitara is not your average sedan, nor your average
SUV. It's a sensible compact-SUV. A little more rugged than the Vitara
2-door convertible, Suzuki's 4-door Vitara sacrifices nothing for style
and a savvy ride. With varying configurations to play with, interior volume
is a roomy 112.6 cubic-feet. Pack everyone and everything in
everything
but the kitchen sink that is.
Available Models
As with the Vitara 2-door convertible and Grand Vitara, the 2003 Suzuki
Vitara 4-door hard-top lets you choose from two basic trims: rear 2-wheel
drive, and 4-wheel drive both dressed with the same interior, exterior,
and under-the-hood features.
Interior Features
Standard interior treats for the 2003 Suzuki Vitara 4-door include air
conditioning, micron air filtration system, AM/FM stereo with in-dash
CD player, automatic lighting, map lights, variable-intermittent wiper
control, tilt steering wheel, tachometer, split-folding rear seat, and
cargo cover. More power to you with standard power windows, power door
locks, power mirrors, a 12-volt power socket.
Exterior Features
16-inch sport-styled steel wheels come standard, but you can opt for aluminum
wheels. Other standard features include handy roof rails, rear wiper/washer,
and multi-reflection halogen headlamps.
Performance
Under the hood of the 2003 Suzuki Vitara 4-door is a 2.0-liter DOHC 4-cylinder
engine with 127 horsepower @ 6000 rpm, and 134 lb-ft of torque @ 3000
rpm. Fuel mileage on the 2-wheel drive 5-speed manual takes you an estimated
420 miles with 23/26 (city/hwy) mpg, while the 4-wheel drive 4-speed automatic
gets 22/25 (city/hwy) mpg. Further along, find a zero-maintenance, self-adjusting,
two-stage metal timing chain designed to save you money down the road.
MacPherson strut front suspension and a five-link, coil-spring rear suspension
system helps to smooth the bumps. Choose the 4-wheel drive model, and
find yourself exploring off-road opportunities with 'shift-on-the-fly'
ease.
Safety and Security
Standard safety and security features of the 2003 Suzuki Vitara 4-door
consist of second-generation dual front airbags, height-adjustable shoulder
belts, rear door child-safety locks, child seat LATCH system, energy-absorbing
steering column, daytime running lights, and remote keyless entry. Power
hydraulic vented front disc and rear drum brakes are standard as well.
Structural safety manifests with reinforced side-impact beams, a steel-reinforced
passenger compartment, and integrated front and rear crumple zones to
reinsure impact safety.

2003 Suzuki Vitara 4-Door Highlights
The
bigger, roomier Vitara 4-Door has a full steel hardtop and a quiet,
comfortable interior.
As
anybody who's done serious off road exploring will tell you, the
toughest terrain is always on the way to the best campsites and
most secluded swimming holes: soft sand, rock crawling and technical
climbs. How can the four-wheel-drive Vitara get through when some
others can't? Because in low range at low speeds, special drive
ratios keep the Vitara's engine spinning comfortably in the heart
of its powerband and the engine torque is multiplied to keep the
wheels turning. Single range all-wheel-drive systems don't have
the right gear ratios for very slow speeds, so their engines lug
down to low revs and power fades. When the going gets tough, these
systems simply can't keep going.
Exterior
colors for Vitara 4-Door models for 2003 are Bright White, Platinum
Silver Metallic, Satin Black, Cranberry Metallic, Indigo Blue Metallic
and Ivy Green Metallic.
Like
all 2003 Suzuki models, the Vitara covered by the best warranty
in the business, Suzuki's new 7-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited
warranty. Fully transferable to succeeding owners and free of deductibles
for covered items, the warranty is designed to underscore the corporation's
confidence in product quality. The powertrain warranty covers the
engine, transaxle, transmission and transfer case and front- and
rear-wheel-drive systems. Although Kia and Hyundai offer a 10-year/100,000-mile
warranty, theirs is not fully transferable.
