2004 Chevrolet CorvetteFor the past two years, the Corvette has received a "Best Buy" distinction in the sports car class from Consumer Guide. Unless something drastic changes, the 2004 Chevrolet Corvette should continue this success. In short, the Corvette keeps winning the title because it has outstanding power and performance features, a unique style, interior comfort and a reasonable price tag. Last year, Corvette marked a half-century of achievement with a special 50th Anniversary Edition. For 2004, it presents special commemorative editions for the coupe, convertible and Z06. These flashy models pay homage to the wildly successful C5-R racing program. Available Models Interior Features Standard features on the 2004 Corvette include leather upholster, 6-way power seats, a center console, heated power mirrors, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry and a Bose AM/FM/CD player. Z06 models have a unique head-up instrumentation display. A clean, Shale interior comes with each of the three commemorative editions. Exterior Features Performance The Z06 is even more impressive. It features a 5.7-liter V8 engine with 405 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 400 lb-ft of torque at 4800 rpm, mated to a standard 6-speed manual transmission. For 2004, the Z06 has revised shock valving for an even better ride. Other features that contribute to the Corvette's legendary driving experience include Magnetic Selective Ride Control, Goodyear EMT "run-flat" tires (coupe and convertible), active handling and a rear transaxle.
