2003 Jaguar X-Type
The 2003 Jaguar X-Type is the least expensive model offered by Jaguar.
You can expect all the refinement and style of a Jag with the X-Type,
conveniently wrapped into a tidy price package that may seem, to some,
very un-Jaguar like.
As Jaguar's all-wheel drive compact sports car, the 2003 Jaguar X-Type
combines high-adrenaline performance, handling agility and innovative
technology with the luxury, craftsmanship and grace for which Jaguar is
renowned. The result is a smaller and more affordable model that appeals
to a large customer base.
Available Models
The 2003 Jaguar X-Type is offered in two models: 2.5 and 3.0.
Interior Features
The four-door 2003 Jaguar X-Type sedan is roomy and refined. It will seat
five of the largest adults with ease. Like all Jaguars, the standard package
of features is long and impressive, regardless of trim levels. With the
Jaguar X-Type, the interior is comprised of leather seating surfaces and
bird's-eye maple trim, automatic climate control, one-touch open/close
power windows, a 120-Watt audio system, remote entry, an auto-dimming
interior mirror and, of course, much more.
A variety of options packages are available to add to the comfort. Some
of the features that are offered separately include heated front seats
and an Alpine premium sound system (180 Watt) with six-disc CD changer.
In addition, a GPS navigation system is also offered.
Exterior Features
Alloy wheels are standard, as are quad halogen headlamps, standard foglights
integrated into the lower front fascia and 'jewel effect' taillights.
Xenon high-intensity gas-discharge headlights are available as a stand-alone
option.
Performance
The 2003 Jaguar X-Type is a speedy roaster that handles with a precision
that will bring a smile to your face. 2.5 models come with a 192-horsepower,
2.5-liter V6 engine that also provides 178 lb-ft. of torque. Faster 3.0
models have a 3.0-liter V6 engine that churns out 227 horsepower and 206
lb-ft. of torque. 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic transmission are
both available.
An exceptionally stiff body structure is primarily responsible for the
2003 Jaguar X-Type's agile handling and compliant ride quality. Its four-wheel
independent suspension, employing a MacPherson strut layout at the front
and a multi-link torsion control link system at the rear, delivers a high
degree of inherent stability as well.
Safety and Security
The 2003 Jaguar X-Type, in addition to being quick, is also very safe.
All models receive dual front airbags, front side airbags, curtain side
airbags and antilock 4-wheel disc brakes.
