2003 Infiniti G35
The 2003 Infinity G35 is the second part of a one-two punch for the luxury
performance sedan segment. The G35 is the performance half of the deal,
next to the luxury-oriented I35.One of the key design innovations is the
FM (front-midship) design, which places the engine behind the front axle.
This engine placement enhances handling by providing an optimized front-to-rear-
weight balance and allowing the designers to push the wheels out to the
car's corners.
Available Models
The 2003 Infiniti G35 4-door comes in a base Luxury model or in a Luxury
Leather model.
Interior Features
The 2003 Infiniti G35 interior is spacious and comfortable, with three
design priorities; space, comfort and utility. Innovations have been incorporated
to maximize shoulder leg and head space, resulting in a feeling of spacious
comfort.
Amenities are at a high standard level with a 6-speaker, 200-Watt Bose
audio system that is coupled with a Radio Data System and steering wheel
controls. Power everything, including seat, windows, mirrors, door locks
and steering, automatic climate control, and an instrument panel featuring
Infiniti's fine vision illumination system and signature analog clock
are all part of the standard profile.
Optional add-ons can take the luxury level even higher with DVD based
navigation on a 6.5-inch LCD screen, for example, or any one of an assortment
of appearance or function related items.
Exterior Features
Bold styling, derived from racing technology, places a strong emphasis
on aerodynamics, which helps the 2003 Infiniti G35 achieve zero degrees
of front lift through extensive use of diffusers and deflectors. This
contributes to vehicle stability, reducing drag and noise at high speeds.
The 2003 Infiniti G35 has an exceptional coefficient of drag, optimizing
performance. High Intensity Discharge headlights, an Infiniti norm, provide
excellent visibility.
Seven exterior colors are available for the G35 this year: Desert Platinum,
Emerald Mist, Ivory Pearl, Brilliant Silver, Black Obsidian, Garnet Fire
and Twilight Blue.
Performance
The G35 has a new 260hp 3.5-liter dual overhead cam 24-valve V6 with 260
lb-ft of torque achieved at 4800rpm. The peak hp is reached at 6000 rpm
but there is ample power available at any speed. This is a performance-oriented
vehicle and it will prove it with powerful acceleration, excellent ride
quality and taut, agile handling response. It is teamed to an advanced
5-speed, electronically controlled automatic transmission with manual
shift mode and is capable of 19/24 mpg.
Safety and Security
Passive safety technology includes 4-wheel vented disc brakes with ABS,
dual front airbags, front side airbags and curtain side airbags. Active
or preventative innovations include standard traction control, skid control
and antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brake force distribution.
