Two years ago, the Kia Sedona entered the minivan market. The sales of this van have climbed steadily, suggesting that consumers like the thought of value for money. With the 2003 Kia Sedona, they get just that. Roomy, and keeping to the features that have helped it sell so well, this minivan is primed to climb even farther up the rankings in this next year.

Available Models
The 2003 Kia Sedona is available in the LX and the EX models. Both are 4-door vans, provide V6 power, and seat seven. The length of both the LX and the EX out-classes other regular body minivans. The Kia Sedona comes with 5-speed automatic transmission.

Interior Features
Inside the 2003 Kia Sedona, there is an incredible amount of storage for all those little items that find their way into a minivan. A 2-level glovebox, front overhead compartment, and covered dashtop bin are just some of the compartments in this van. A split 50/50 bench flips and folds, and the second and third rows of seats lift completely out of the van, making room for large cargo items. The cupholders and storage bin between the front seats folds down, allowing passage to the back rows.

Standard features on both models include front and back air conditioning, a central door lock button, and an AM/FM/CD player. The EX has additional stereo speakers, a spare remote for the keyless entry, a trip computer, and a power passenger seat as standard features. Also in the EX, third row passengers are provided with their own control buttons.

In the LX, the second row has a bench seat, while the EX has bucket seats. The EX may be furnished with leather upholstery, if desired.

Exterior Features
Both models feature dual sliding rear side doors and rear privacy glass. For 2003, all Sedonas sport new taillights. The EX also comes with alloy wheels and a roof rack. A power sunroof is a option for the EX, and a tow hitch and a rear spoiler are options on both Sedona models.

Performance
In this van, the 3.5-litre V6 engine does 195 hp at 5500 rpm, and 218 lbs-ft of torque at 3500 rpm. There is 5-speed automatic transmission in both the LX and EX models.

Safety and Security
For safety, the 2003 Kia Sedona offers dual front airbags as standard on both models. The EX also comes equipped with fog lights, while anti-lock brakes are an option on both models.

2003 Kia Sedona

The front-wheel-drive Sedona continues Kia's tradition of well-built, high-value vehicles that offer more than the buyer might expect. It is powered by a high-tech 3.5-liter dual overhead cam V6 that is the largest displacement engine currently available in an import minivan.
For 2003, the Sedona LX upgrades its standard audio system to include an AM/FM/CD with six speakers. The EX will satisfy audiophiles with an upgraded AM/FM/stereo/cassette/CD player and two additional tweeters. Standard on both models are three 12 volt power access points - one on the dash, one in the third row and one in the cargo compartment - to plug in auxiliary items such as TVs, laptops and cell phones.
In the Kia tradition, the Sedona LX is packed with unexpected standard features, and for 2003 adds an inside passenger central door lock switch and remote fuel lid release to its already long list, which includes power front windows, power mirrors, power door locks, front and rear air conditioning, illuminated ignition key slot and map lights in the overhead console. There are also reading lights in the second and third rows of seating, front door courtesy lights and a rear cargo area light with a convenient on/off switch. Sunglass and garage door opener storage are also standard in the overhead console.
For 2003 the Sedona receives a new rear combination tail light design and on the EX, an all chrome rear garnish and standard two-tone body side cladding. Also standard are dual sliding doors, rear privacy glass and multi-reflector headlights.
The Sedona adds two new colors for the model year, Sage Green and Diamond Silver, and will be available with a trailer hitch.
