2003 Pontiac Montana
The 2003 Pontiac Montana minivan is available in either 2 or All-Wheel
Drive (AWD), has ample power under the hood and cargo space that is a
leader in this class of vehicle. The range of choice available means that
a consumer can choose to fit out their 2003 Pontiac Montana with a sumptuous
collection of add-ons but even at the base level, a good level of comfort
and quality is assured.
Available Models
The 2003 Pontiac Montana rises through 1SV, 1SA and then, to 1SX or 1SE
followed by 1SY. In this sequence, the 1SE and 1SY both add levels of
luxury and function to the 1SA. The 1SX adds many of the functional enhancements
of the 1SY, including AWD without the additional comfort improvements
of the 1SE level. The 2003 Pontiac Montana comes with a Regular or Extended
length.
Interior Features
Even on the base version of the 2003 Pontiac Montana, a solid collection
of standard features adorn the interior. For example, front air conditioning,
cruise control, AM/FM/CD player and many power features, such as windows,
door-locks, steering etc, are standard equipment. However, beyond those
outstanding bigger-ticket luxuries, smaller details such as tilt steering,
heated power mirrors, tachometer, intermittent wipers and cloth upholstery
are also included at this base level.
By the time you have risen to the level of the 1SE you can add rear air
conditioning with controls in back for it and for the stereo, a fold-down
screen DVD player with wireless headphones, overhead console with trip
computer and
Compass and, at the very top-level 1SY, OnStar system with one year of
emergency and communications service.
Exterior Features
The 2003 Pontiac Montana isn't just about what is inside. The base model
is designed to be and look like a functional and sporty minivan and this
is achieved with items such as the rear spoiler, roof rack, fog lights,
alloy wheels and white-letter tires.
Performance
Choose the Montana for a smooth ride, good handling for the class, and
reliable acceleration at highway speed. The AWD availability means that
this is also a good vehicle for adverse road conditions such as winter
snow or summer sand.
The Montana has a single engine choice; the V6 3.4-liter has 185 hp at
5200rpm and 210 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. This engine is fitted with
4-speed automatic transmission and it gets 19/26mpg (city/hwy). AWD takes
a couple of miles off this rating but is still pretty reasonable for the
class. At the top-level of the AWD models, 7-wire trailer-harness, load-levelling
rear suspension and an air inflation kit are included.
Safety and Security
Safety is a primary consideration in the design of the Pontiac Montana.
Side airbags are standard at the base level while all models are equipped
with self-sealing tires. This safety is upgraded quickly to antilock brakes
and dual front airbags while the AWD models have 4-wheel disc brakes.
Security is further enhanced by the theft-deterrent system and optional
OnStar equipment.
