On the basic GL model of the 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette
line, as mentioned before, a solid collection of standard
features are offered. Highlights include front and rear
air conditioning, power steering, mirrors, windows and door
locks, 6-way power driver's seat and an AM/FM/CD and cassette
player. The front and second row seats are bucket and captain's
chairs, respectively. They are covered with cloth upholstery
along with the rear split-folding bench seat. An overhead
console with trip computer, compass and an outside temperature
indicator is also standard at the GL level.
GLS models have all these options plus leather upholstery,
8-way power seats in front with driver's seat memory, power
sliding passenger side door, dual zone climate control and
rear climate features including A/C and heater.
Finally, at the top end of the scale, the Premier Edition
is loaded with the aforementioned DVD player, a drop down
LCD screen, input jacks for video games or video cameras,
driver's side power sliding door, a stowable third-row seat
and heated front seats. Optional add-ons include most of
these features as available for the GL and the GLS models.
Outside the Silhouette, fine styling and functional features
make up a solid package that includes a roof rack, rear
privacy glass, fog lights and alloy wheels.
The Silhouette has a single engine choice. This 3.4-liter
overhead cam V6 has good power production with 185 hp at
5200 rpm and has 210 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. The 4-speed
automatic is the standard transmission offering and it is
capable of 19/26 mpg (city/hwy) (AWD gets 18/24).
Traction control and load-levelling suspension is also
standard on this Oldsmobile minivan and it comes with 225/60R16

A theft deterrent system, antilock brakes, dual front and
front side airbags are standard safety features on the Silhouette
