2002 Chrysler Town & Country

The well-appointed and elegant new Chrysler Town & Country Passenger Van lines up with four models this year - each offering different luxury and performance specifications at several price levels. This van has proven to be an exceptionally popular choice, especially for those with families and busy lifestyles.

Available Models
The four models up for grabs in 2002 are the Town & Country LX, Town & Country LXi, Town & Country Limited, and Town & Country EX. Most of the key differences lie in the luxury department, while the crowning model upgrades the engine from the standard 3.3 litres to 3.8 litres.

Interior Features
Throughout the interior, the Town & Country LX features an array of pockets, cup holders, and storage bins. Comforts and conveniences include power windows, power door locks, and roll-out bench seats, and the seating capacity is seven passengers.

Steering wheel-mounted speed control comes in handy for highway driving, while the cargo area is equipped with convenient utility hooks for groceries.

The Town & Country EX adds an AM/FM stereo with CD player, plus a 3-zone temperature control system that ensures the comfort of all passengers. Up another level, the LXi Passenger Van makes the addition of a remote keyless entry system, upgraded sound system, and automatic temperature control.

Turning to the Limited Passenger Van, it highlights a power rear liftgate, and a memory feature for seats and mirrors.

Exterior Features
The EX model features sixteen-inch wheels with touring SBR tires, and a power sliding door on the right side for easy loading and unloading of passengers or cargo. The rear liftgate also facilitates quick and effortless access to luggage and other gear in the rear cargo area.

Next in line, the LXi Passenger Van features dual power sliding doors and front fog lights. As well, this vehicle comes with an overhead console brimming with navigation devices and storage space. The driver's seat is eight-way power adjustable, and the middle seats are bucket. The rear bench seat splits and folds down to accommodate extra cargo, and interior is finished with opulent leather upholstery.

The Chrysler Town & Country LX Passenger Van opens up with a 3.3-litre four-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower and 210 lbs-ft of torque. Each vehicle is equipped with four-wheel disc antilock brakes and power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering.

Among the benefits of the Limited model is a load leveling suspension and an upgraded 3.8-litre engine with 215 horsepower and 245 lbs-ft of torque.

Safety and Security
Each Town & Country LX Passenger Van is built with safety standards that include a driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, child safety locks, and child seat tethers and anchors. Steel side guard door beams and structural reinforcements protect passengers from the effects of an impact. An electric rear window defroster and side window demisters keep everything clear for optimum visibility out all angles of the vehicle.

The EX model adds traction control to the package, while the Chrysler Town & Country Limited Passenger Van features side impact air bags and a theft deterrent system.
