Minivan packs air conditioning, power door locks, power windows, four-spoke
sport steering wheel, AM/FM stereo with CD player, and cruise control.
The seating capacity ranges from six passengers to seven or eight.

outside mirrors, rear window washer/wiper, sliding doors on both sides
of the vehicle, dark charcoal lower accent, fog lights, luggage rack,
and either fifteen-inch cast aluminum sport wheels or sixteen-inch five-spoke
cast aluminum wheels depending on the package.
Performance
Every 2002 Pontiac Montana Minivan is built with a tough 3.4-litre
2400 SFI six-cylinder engine that cranks out 185 horsepower and 210 lb-ft
of torque. The Montana features front-wheel drive, power rack-and-pinion
steering, a fully independent MacPherson strut front suspension, and a
stainless steel exhaust system. The standard transmission on all models
is a responsive four-speed electronically-controlled automatic.
For excellent handling and performance on challenging terrain, including
mud and snow conditions, the Montana Versatrak AWD directs power and control
to all four wheels. This model also features an independent rear suspension
and automatic level control.
Safety and Security
The 2002 Pontiac Montana comes with basic fare in the safety
department that includes a vehicle theft-deterrent alarm system, three-point
seatbelts at outboard seating positions, child safety locks, child seat
tethers and anchors, driver air bag, passenger air bag, and side impact
air bags for front passengers.
