The exciting new 2002 Nissan Xterra SUV dishes out lots of

Available Models
Ample variety is provided courtesy of three main models - Xterra

Interior Features
Enter the cabin of the Nissan Xterra SUV and you'll be welcomed
by a roomy interior boasting standards such as air conditioning, easy-to-clean
woven seat cloth, center console with dual-level storage, six ceiling
tie-down clips, and a 50/50 split folding rear seat. The amenities continue
with removable rear seat cushions and an AM/FM stereo with CD player and
four speakers.
Among the accessories and packages available on the entry-level model
(and either optional or standard on the upper two models) are such items
as a cargo organizer, power windows, power door locks, cruise control
with steering-wheel mounted controls, and an upgraded sound system.
Exterior Features
The sophisticated and handsome Nissan Xterra wears a tubular
roof rack, fifteen-inch steel wheels (sixteen-inch aluminum alloy wheels
on the luxurious SE V6), and black privacy glass. The Xterra SE V6 also
boasts fender lip moldings, body side moldings, tubular step rails, front
tow hook, fog lights, and dual power outside mirrors.
Performance
Beginning with the entry-level Xterra XE SUV, performance specifications
include a 2.4-litre, DOHC, 16-valve four-cylinder engine that produces
143 horsepower and 154 lb-ft of torque. This two-wheel drive vehicle is
well-suited to city driving and hauling colleagues or kids from place
to place. The standard transmission is five-speed manual.
A significant change in engine capabilities is found in the next model,
the Xterra XE V6 and SE V6, which boost output to 170 horsepower and 200
lb-ft of torque thanks to a 3.3-litre, SOHC, 12-valve six-cylinder engine.
A SuperCharged engine is offered as an option and produces 210 horsepower
and 246 lb-ft of torque. For outstanding performance on challenging terrain,
each vehicle is equipped with part-time four-wheel drive with auto-locking
hubs. Standard transmission is five-speed manual, with four-speed automatic
available as an option. The SE V6 model adds limited slip rear differential.
Safety and Security
Each Nissan Xterra SUV features front and rear crumple zones,
hood buckling creases, pipe-style steel side door impact beams, child
safety locks, three-point seatbelts at outboard seating positions, child
seat tethers and anchors, a driver depowered air bag, and a passenger
depowered air bag. The Xterra SE V6 is equipped with a remote keyless
entry system - available in a package deal on the other two models.
