2002 Pontiac Grand Prix
For those of you whose driving preferences emphasize power and control
without sacrificing luxurious details and safety, the new 2002 Pontiac
Grand Prix may just be what you've been looking for. With a commanding
appearance and sporty lines, it's as pleasing to behold as it is to drive
down the open highways.
Available Models
The 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix is available in both a sedan and a coupe,
with several different front-wheel drive models offered - 2002 Pontiac
Grand Prix SE Sedan, GT Sedan, GT Coupe, GTP Sedan, and GTP Coupe. Additionally,
there are three special packages - Special 40th Anniversary Package, Wide
Track Smart Package, and Premium Lighting Package.
The Special 40th Anniversary Package includes hood-mounted heat extractors
with supercharged emblem (GTP only), sixteen-inch chrome multi-spoke wheels
with new center caps, and a Ruby Red shift knob. This model also sports
a unique rear deck lid spoiler, roof fences, chrome dual exhaust tips,
special two-tone leather upholstery, new interior trim plates and door
panels, exterior trim emblems, and special steering wheel and floor mats.
The Wide Track Smart Package features a rear seat pass-through, six-way
power driver's seat, sixteen-inch aluminum QD1 wheels, and sixteen-inch
QDX tires.
A Premium Lighting Package adds rear reading lamps to the sedan models,
and illuminated visor mirrors, assist grips, electrochromic rear view
mirror with compass, outside air temperature gauge, and OnStar service.
Interior Features
Among the standard fare on the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix are comforts
and conveniences such as dual zone air conditioning, power door locks,
AM/FM stereo with CD player with six speakers, four-spoke sport steering
wheel, power windows, and cruise control. Leather upholstery, heated driver's
seat, six-way power driver's seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel
are all available on upper end models.
Exterior Features
The dashing 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix is equipped with dual power outside
sport mirrors, rear deck lid spoiler, touring tires, and either fifteen-inch
or sixteen-inch cast aluminum wheels depending on which model you choose.
A power glass sunroof is available as an option on the GT and GTP models.
Performance
The 2002 Grand Prix SE Sedan packs a 3.1-litre Six-cylinder engine
that produces 175 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The standard transmission
on this and all other models is a four-speed automatic with Enhanced Traction
System.
Taking performance up a notch, the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Sedan and
Coupe check in with a 3.8-litre six-cylinder engine that charges things
up with 200 horsepower and 230 lb-ft of torque. And, topping it all off,
the Grand Prix GTP Sedan and Coupe boast a 3.8-litre Supercharged V6 to
register with 240 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
Safety and Security
Every 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix features safety standards like a driver
air bag, passenger air bag, four-wheel ABS brakes, three-point seatbelts
at all outboard seating positions, integrated headrests, child safety
locks, child seat tethers and anchors, and an emergency internal trunk
release. GT and GTP models highlight an alarm system and remote keyless
entry.
