and drive, it is equally dependable and practical. With sleek lines and
aerodynamic design, the Camry Solara Coupe is eye-catching and absolutely
brimming with a myriad of features.
Available Models
The 2002 line up is comprised of two coupes - the Toyota Camry
Solara SE and the Toyota Camry Solara SLE V6 - each with their roots in
the ever-popular Camry that has proven itself year after year. SLE V6
brings with it upgrades in performance as well as a few extra luxuries
to boot.
Interior Features
The Camry Solary Coupe SE features a tilt steering wheel, wood-grain
accents, cloth upholstery, a convenient split folding rear seat for extra
cargo space, and a center console with armrest. The list of standards
continues with remote hood, trunk and fuel door releases, plus power windows
and power door locks. Also on the list of basic fare are cruise control,
air conditioning, and an AM/FM stereo with cassette and CD player pumping
out the tunes from six speakers.
The Camry Solara SLE V6 tops it all off with the addition of a handy
remote keyless entry system, genuine leather upholstery, leather-wrapped
gearshift knob and steering wheel, eight-way power adjustable driver seat,
automatic climate control, HomeLink Universal Transceiver, and a premium
JBL sound system with seven speakers including subwoofer.
Exterior Features
Each Camry Solara SE Coupe is dressed with integrated fog lamps,
dual power color-keyed outside mirrors, and fifteen-inch wheels with wheel
covers. Up to the next level, Solara SLE tags on sixteen-inch aluminum
alloy wheels, color-keyed front mudguards, and heated dual power color-keyed
outside mirrors for inclement weather.
Performance
The new 2002 Camry Solara Coupe is more powerful than ever,
delivering a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder VVT-i engine with 160 horsepower
and 162 lb-ft of torque in the entry-level SE model. For driving enthusiasts
who really like to motor, the Solara Coupe SLE sports a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder
engine that bursts with 200 horsepower and 212 lb-ft of torque.
Both models are equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, with
four-speed automatic available as an option. Power-assisted rack-and-pinion

rear struts lend to a precise ride with diminished vibrations. The front
brakes are ventilated disc, and the rear brakes on the SE are drum, while
the SLE sports rear ventilated disc brakes.
