2003 Cadillac DeVille
The 2003 Cadillac DeVille is Cadillac's largest offering to the luxury
car market. With refined styling and a racer's heart, the Deville embodies
the grace and quality of the luxury car market. In fact, Cadillac and
the Deville has an important place as one of icons of our time, representative
of class and style. The following will show that the 2003 does not simply
rest on the laurels of its predecessors.
Available Models
The 2003 Cadillac DeVille is offered in a Base, DHS and DTS set with rising
levels of luxury and performance. A variety of additional options are
also available to the consumer with specific desires or functional considerations.
Interior Features
The 2003 Cadillac DeVille has a spacious interior that will accommodate
five adults very comfortably on the plush leather upholstery. Tri-zone
automatic climate controls mean that they can control their environment
at the touch of a button while the interior air filter and excellent exterior
sound-damping qualities lend to an extraordinarily comfortable and quiet
ride, insulated from the world outside the windows.
Not surprisingly, most any feature you can think of is equipped on the
2003 Cadillac DeVille Base model; AM/FM/cassette/CD player, OnStar System,
a power tilt/telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio, climate
and cruise controls and, of course, a memory system with seat, mirrors,
steering wheel, climate control and radio presets.
One level up, to the DHS model, gives a Bose AM/FM/weatherband/cassette/CD
player, rain-sensing wipers, heated front seats, analog instruments, a
power rear window sunshade and, to top it all off, front seat lumbar massage!
The DTS or DeVille Touring Sedan, is a little more oriented toward road-trip
functionality. It takes away the memory settings, rear seat lumbar adjustment
and some other comfort features but it adds the Continuously Variable
Road-Sensing Suspension (CVRSS) for interior comfort.
Exterior Features
The 2003 Cadillac DeVille DTS has fog lights, alloy wheels and classic
styling for 2003, replacing the chrome alloy wheels standard on the DHS.
Performance
Northstar engines continue to power the Cadillac line, with the DeVille
Base and DHS possessing a dohc 4.6-liter V8 that pumps out 275 hp at 5600
rpm and 300 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. The DTS has a faster 4.6-liter/
279-cu. inch Northstar V8 with 300 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 295 lb-ft
of torque at 4400 rpm. Both have 4-speed automatic transmission capable
of 18/27 mpg, (city/hwy).
All three models have traction control and the DTS model features stability
control and the previously mentioned CVRSS.
Safety and Security
Both models address safety with dual front and side airbags, antilock
4-wheel disc brakes, an antiskid system and optional on the DHS and DTS
models, an infrared night driving system. Rear-obstacle detection and
additional airbags are also available and a separate navigation system
with 6.5-inch dashboard screen is newly available as an option on the
base edition. This screen has voice recognition and can play DVDs, providing
the transmission is in Park.
