2003 Nissan Murano
The Murano, Nissan's first attempt at a crossover SUV, looks like a winner.
Built on the award-winning Altima platform, this V6 wagon accommodates
five passengers, and is comfortable and durable. Equipped with a continuously
variable automatic transmission, the 2003 Nissan Murano achieves an efficiency
that rivals other offerings in its class.
Available Models
There are two 2003 Nissan Murano models: the SL and the SE. Both are 4-door
wagons, and both are available in either 2-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
The all-wheel drive models are also equipped with a console button that
provides extra traction through a 50/50 power split. The SE model's sport
suspension adds to its functionality.
Interior Features
Inside the 2003 Nissan Murano, consumers will find practically any feature
they might be looking for as part of the standard package. The air conditioning
has dual-zone automatic climate controls, while the steering wheel has
radio controls and is leather-wrapped. A tachometer, universal garage-door
opener, cruise control, power steering, and a 8-way power driver seat
with lumbar adjustment are just some of the additional features available
on both the SL and SE models.
For those consumers looking for extras, both the SL and SE have options
for leather upholstery, heated front seats, a memory system, and power-adjustable
pedals. This SUV is incredibly roomy, and is furnished with cushiony seats.
Exterior Features
Both the Murano SL and SE are equipped with rear privacy glass, while
the SL model comes with high-intensity-discharge headlights. Alloy wheels
and 18-inch tires are standard features on both models. For those in search
of light, a power sunroof is an option on both the SL and the SE.
Performance
The performance of the 2003 Nissan Murano's 3.5-litre V6 engine is 245
hp at 5800 rpm, and 246 lbs-ft of torque at 3600 rpm, and it has proved
to be among the fastest in its class. The continuous automatic transmission
partners this engine to provide the driver with the power and versatility
they are seeking. Thanks to its 4-wheel independent suspension system,
the Murano also offers a comfortable ride.
Safety and Security
Anti-lock 4-wheel disc brakes are standard on both Murano models. Both
the SL and SE are also equipped with dual front airbags, front side airbags,
and curtain side air bags. Nissan has included front-seat active head
restraints as well. Fog lights and a theft-deterrent system round out
the safety and security of this midsize SUV.
