2002 Lexus ES 300
With stunning lines and bold sophistication, the elegant Lexus ES 300
Sedan glides effortlessly into 2002 with a host of generous amenities
and outstanding performance that we have come to expect from this line
of luxury vehicles. Coupled with world-class safety standards, the ES
300 is an incredible all-around sedan for those with discerning tastes.
Available Models
Given that the Lexus ES 300 covers a wide array of stellar
features, just one model is offered for 2002. It has been completely redesigned
this year to make it even more enjoyable to drive and to be driven in.
Interior Features
Due to the increase in wheelbase and height, the interior is
even more spacious and accommodating for passengers. Enhanced sound absorption
technology has decreased any wind noise and vibrations to barely perceptible
levels for a smooth, peaceful ride. True to the Lexus reputation for the
finer things in life, each vehicle is graced with dual-zone automatic
climate control with air filter, and a premium audio system with AM/FM
stereo with cassette player and CD player pumping out the tunes from seven
speakers.
The list of luxuries continues with a moonroof, ten-way power adjustable
driver seat, eight-way power adjustable passenger seat, auto-dimming rearview
mirror, cruise control, dual front cupholders, and multi-information display
with trip computer. The interior is finished off in high style with California
walnut trim.
Other standard amenities include outside temperature gauge, HomeLink
garage door opener, rear seat armrest with cupholders, retracting front
and rear assist grips, and a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Exterior Features
The Lexus ES 300 Sedan's flowing lines and attractive curb
appeal is both contemporary in feel and sportier. Sculpted hood lines,
combination head light clusters, narrower body gaps, and dynamic surface
tension are just some of the finer aspects of this vehicle. Reshaped dual
auto-dimming heated power outside mirrors look sleek and reduce wind noise,
and each vehicle is fitted with sixteen-inch alloy wheels.
Performance
Outstanding in this category, the Lexus ES 300 packs a 3.0-litre,
DOHC, six-cylinder VVT-i engine with variable valve timing that whips
out 210 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque.
The standard transmission is a new five-speed electronic that is both
responsive and fuel efficient. The fuel consumption rating checks in at
21/29 mpg (city/hwy), giving the ES 300 an Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle
certification. Improvements to the 2002 model have lead to greater precision
and handling.
Safety and Security
The Lexus ES 300 Sedan is equipped with broad safety standards
such as a newly redesigned unibody with new crush structures and passenger
compartment reinforcements. Also new for 2002 are side curtain air bags
in addition to the standard driver and passenger air bags and side impact
air bags. Other basic fare includes ABS brakes with electronic brakeforce
distribution, three-point seatbelts, head restraints, and child safety
locks and child seat tethers/anchors in the rear seating area.
Among the options listed are traction control and vehicle skid control.
