2002 Suzuki Aerio
When it comes to outdoing the competition, the sporty new 2002 Suzuki
Aerio Sedan has certainly done a good job turning heads away from some
of the usual favorites. It boasts one of the most powerful engines in
its class - more than Focus, Civic, or Corolla. It also offers more interior
room than Corolla, Civic, or Sentra, and has a very distinctive curbside
appeal. This smart little car packs plenty of eye-catching qualities in
an attractive, young, and economically-appealing package.
Available Models
For 2002, Suzuki puts forth two outstanding models - Aerio
S Sedan and Aerio GS Sedan - each with a wide variety of standard and
optional equipment. You'll be impressed with everything from luxury to
performance to safety features.
Interior Features
The comfortable cabin of the cab-forward Suzuki Aerio S
Sedan is graced with air conditioning, power door locks, AM/FM stereo
with in-dash CD player, and a three-spoke tilt steering wheel. The rear
seat conveniently splits and folds down to accommodate extra cargo - especially
longer, awkward items like skis. The interior is lined with durable two-tone
velour and mesh fabric, and up front are two sporty bucket seats.
Turning the volume in the luxury department, the Suzuke Aerio GS Sedan
makes the key addition of power windows, cruise control, rear seat armrest,
and a handy below-seat storage bin. The seating capacity for both models
is five passengers.
Exterior Features
Every Suzuki Aerio Sedan wears and aggressive front bumper,
jewel-type halogen headlights, and prism tail lights. The GS model highlights
fifteen-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels, ear spoiler, and chrome exhaust
tip. Both models are equipped with an integrated window antenna and dual
power outside mirrors.
Performance Specifications
Shining in this department, each of the Suzuki Aerio Sedan
models is built with a 2.0-litre, 16-valve, aluminum DOHC, four-cylinder
engine that cranks out an impressive 141 horsepower and 135 lbs-ft of
torque. Power steering, direct ignition system, and liquid-filled motor
mounts are just some of its fine features.
The standard transmission is five-speed manual, with four-speed automatic
offered as an option. The manual versions check in at 26/33 mpg (city/hwy),
while the automatic variety registers at 26/31 mpg (city/hwy).
Safety and Security
The Suzuki Aerio Sedans feature safety standards such as child
safety seat anchors, remote keyless entry system, second-generation dual
air bags, and a unibody structure with integrated crumple zones to channel
the energy of an impact away from passengers. The steel reinforced passenger
compartment lends itself well to this last point.
