2002 Ford Focus
The popular new 2002 Ford Focus features a host of improvements and additions
for the year, making it a highly competitive vehicle in its class. It

Available Models
Plenty of choice is offered up for 2002. The full range of
models available includes the four-door sedans (Focus LX Sedan, Focus
SE Sedan), four-door wagons (Focus SE Wagon, Focus ZTS Wagon, Focus ZTW),
two-door hatchbacks (Focus ZX3), and four-door hatchback (Focus ZX5 SVT).
The 2002 Ford Focus ZX5 is a new addition to the line up this year, serving
up a combination of modern state-of-the-art design with the sensibility
of features such as a split folding rear seat and four-door entry. The
2002 Ford Focus ZTW is a new wagon package that will knock your socks
off, too.
Interior Features
The 2002 Ford Focus is equipped with new features such as rear-seat
map pockets on the LX, SE, and ZX3 models and kangaroo pouches on the
ZTS. Among the options available are a six-disc in-dash CD changer, and
a power moonroof for a pleasant interior ambience.
An AM/FM stereo with cassette player is standard on the base model LX,
while the subsequent models sport an AM/FM stereo with CD player. ZX5
and ZTW feature standard AM/FM stereo with six-CD player. Most models
are equipped with air conditioning, power door locks, and power windows.
Each vehicle has a 60/40 split folding rear seat to allow for extra cargo.
Exterior
Features
The handy rear hatches of the wagon and hatchback models make
the loading and unloading of groceries, luggage, and other cargo fast
and easy. The four-door models ensure that the entry and exit of passengers
is equally simplified. The ZX5 is built with sixteen-inch aluminum wheels
and fog lamps.
Performance
The 2002 Ford Focus LX and SE models are powered by a 2.0-litre,
SOCH four-cylinder engine that produces 110 horsepower and 125 lbs-ft
of torque. These models are accompanied by a standard five-speed manual
transmission.
Jumping up to another level, the Ford Focus ZX3, ZTS, and wagon models
feature a 2.0-litre, DOHC Zetec inline four-cylinder engine that is capable
of 130 horsepower and 135 lbs-ft of torque. These vehicles all sport a
five-speed manual transmission. Four-speed automatic transmission is an
option that is available on all models for those who prefer it.
Safety and Security
The Ford Focus emphasizes safety, with such standards as electronic
crash severity sensor, three-point seatbelts, driver depowered air bag,
passenger depowered air bag, and driver's seat position sensor. The list
continues with child seat anchors and tethers, front and rear crumple
zones, side impact door beams, and an interior emergency trunk release
that glows in the dark. Side impact air bags are available as an option.
