2003 Honda Civic
The 2003 Honda Civic easily lives up to its reputation for low emissions
and high fuel economy while dispensing a comfortable and exciting ride.
Honda adds a bevy of new product enhancements on the sedan and coupe the
aforementioned will serve to make the renowned Civic even more desirable.
Available Models
You will find the 2003 Honda Civic coupe and sedan available in four trim
levels respectively. The sedan starts with the well-endowed DX, then comes
the LX with more added features followed by the natural gas powered GX
and the sporty EX.
Interior Features
Fresh standard features on all models for 2003 include improved seat fabric,
sporting four spoke steering wheel and rear adjustable outboard headrests.
Your eyes will be relieved to see the new easier to read gauges on all
HX, LX and EX models. Honda has also added standard 4 speaker CD systems
with theft deterrent to the HX and LX, these are also standard on the
GX and EX sedan. The EX coupe will surround you in sound with 6 strategically
placed speakers. Perennial favourites return including ever-important
air conditioning with micron filter system on the LX, GX, and EX. Air
available on request for the DX and HX.
Exterior Features
Added to the menu this year are 15-inch aluminium alloy wheels for the
EX coupe models, with new wheel cover designs on DX/LX sedan and coupe
and EX sedan. Two impelling new exterior colours: Galapagos Green and
Shoreline Mist are available for the first time. Rear combination tail
lamps on the sedan receive a fresh new design. 14-inch aluminium wheels
are available on the DX, HX and LX coupe. All coupes come with green tinted
glass.
Performance
Under the hood you will find a 1668 cc inline four on all models. The
DX and LX put out a respectable 115 hp at 6100 rpm with 110 lb ft of torque
at 4500 rpm. Next comes the HX jumping to 117 hp at 6100 rpm with 111lb
ft of torque at 4500 rpm. Move up to the EX for real excitement, with
127 ponies at 6300 rpm and a 114 lb ft of torque at 4800 rpm, you will
feel the rush of controlled power. The 2003 Honda Civic GX Sedan natural
gas powered vehicle (NGV) continues its run as the cleanest internal combustion
vehicle in the world. You will not be disappointed with 100 hp at 6100
rpm and 98 lb ft of torque at 4000 rpm. All 2003 Civics are ULEV rated
with between 29-32 mpg city and 37-38 mpg highway.
Safety and Security
EX models come with standard anti-lock braking which is available on the
GX as well. Airbags are standard with dual side airbags available on all
models. For added safety and security standard remote keyless entry comes
with the EX, you will find it as option on the HX, LX and GX.
